Ingredients:
1)chickpea lentils:- 1 bowl
2)jaggery- 1/2 bowl
3)oil- २ spoon
4)cardamom powder- 1/2 spoon
5)Nutmeg powder-1/2 spoon
6)salt- 1/2 spoon
7)water- 2 glass
8)sugar- 1/3 bowl
9)cow ghee -1/4 bowl
१०) wheat flour -२ bowl
आवश्यकानि सहित्यानी।
१)चणककस्य द्विदलम -१ कटोर:।
२)गुड: – अर्ध कटोर :।
३)तैलम -चमस द्वयम ।
४)एला चूर्णम -अर्ध चमस :।
५)जातिफलम चूर्णम -अर्ध चमस :।
६)लवणम -अर्ध चमस:।
७)जलम -चषक द्वयम ।
८)शर्करा -१/३ कटोर:।
९)घृतम -१/४ कटोर :।

Puran Poli is a flatbread stuffed with a sweet lentil stuffing. In Marathi language the sweet stuffing is called as Puran and the bread is called as Poli.The stuffing is made from chana dal which are husked and split black chickpeas also known as bengal gram. The sweet element in the stuffing is jaggery This puran poli recipe has spices like ground cardamom, nutmeg to the stuffing.Making puran poli is easy but takes time. So plan in advance before making. You can even prepare the sweet stuffing a day before and refrigerate it. Next day you can make the dough.It is also the special dish of Maharashtra which is prepared on every occasion at every house especially during festivals such as Ganesh Chaturthi and Holi.The dish that is offered as food to the Gods it referred to as naivedya and that is what puran poli is for the Maharashtrians.Puran Poli also finds mention in the commonly used Maharashtrian maxim about the perfect daughter-in-law, that says, “Sun sugran aahe zar ti puran poli changli karte” (the girl is good if she can prepare tasty puran poli).without which your Holi celebrations are incomplete. so enjoy this dish .
