information about uttapam and dosa-
Uttapam are South Indian Breakfast pancakes made with lentils, rice, onions, herbs & spices. These are a very common breakfast in south Indian homes and are mostly eaten with a chutney, sambar . Traditionally uttapam were made with slightly sour batter that is left over after making dosa on the previous days.
Dosa is a fermented, thin and papery, crusty pancake like preparation that is made from rice batter and soaked black lentils.It is a staple dish in South Indian states of Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh and Kerala. It is also popular in other parts of India.
Types of utappam:-
1) veg uttapam
2) masala uttapam
3) rava uttapam
Ingredients to use:-
1) urad dal (white dal)-1/2 bowl
2) Rice – 1bowl
3) salt- 2 spoon
4)Baking Soda-1 spoon
5)chopped Tomato-1 bowl
6)chopped green chilli-5-6
7)chopped coriander-1 /2 bowl
9)chopped onion-1 bowl
10)oil-1/2 bowl(50 ml)
11)Tomato ketch up/tomato sauce as per wish.
